🌲 A Forest Looks Quiet (But It’s Not!)

When humans walk through a forest, everything seems calm.

The trees stand tall.

The leaves move in the wind.

But when I scanned the ground with my alien tools…

I found something amazing happening under the dirt!

🍄 Tiny Helpers in the Dirt

Under the soil live tiny living things called fungi.

Fungi are like mushrooms.

Most of the fungus is hidden underground in long, thin threads.

These threads are called mycelium.

They spread through the dirt like tiny secret strings.

🌳 How Trees Are Connected

Sometimes the mycelium threads connect to tree roots.

Then they grow until they reach another tree.

And another tree.

Soon many trees are connected together!

It is like a secret underground web.

🤝 Trees Help Each Other

When trees are connected, something special can happen.

Trees can share.

They can send food and water through the underground web.

A big tree might help a tiny baby tree grow.

A strong tree might help a sick tree feel better.

It is a lot like friends sharing snacks at lunchtime!

🌱 Helping Baby Trees

Baby trees are very small.

They often grow in the dark shade of big trees.

They need extra help to grow tall.

Through the underground web, older trees can send them food.

This helps the little trees grow strong.

🛸 Nib’s Alien Observation

Humans once thought trees lived all by themselves.

But forests are actually full of friendships!

Above the ground you see trunks and leaves.

But below the ground, trees are helping each other every day.

The forest is not just a bunch of trees.

It is a team.

And all that teamwork happens right under your feet!
